This release is dedicated to field recordings of khöömei, overtone singing from Tuva, a small country in Russian Siberia. It is a refined vocal technique of creating more then one tone at the same time by producing intense stream of overtones, using whole upper body. PDF file with extensive notes is included.

A high quality recording for the advanced listener but also for the khoomei beginner. I think Aleksey Khovalyg has contributed to throat singing culture with some very unique style combinations in this record. if you are a well experienced listener, you will recognize a number of very meticulous and difficult variations in borbangnadyr and ezengileer - if this is one of your first experiences with Tuvan music, it'll be hard to beat this one.
